Photography
Inspired by early fine art and high fashion conceptual Photography, Charlotte Hoyle's work blends the essence of the conceptual and intriguing. Her work typically takes the form of an atmospheric themed story which draws the voyeur in. Capturing the essence of the moment and of the subject is the aim of Charlotte's work.
Charlotte studied photography to degree level within her Fashion Promotion and Illustration BA (Hons) degree at the UCA Epsom where she also developed her fine art and digital skills. Working extensively around the theme of fashion and the surreal her work isn’t exclusively digital as she also shoots with film and medium format cameras.
Illustration
For Charlotte inspiration for her illustration is found in the strangest of places, from a soul moving hum in a Florence + Machine track to the flaky pages of a old dusty book. She prefers to work with pencil and graphite on clean white paper and allowing her image to develop naturally. Since discovering the beauty and complex nature of anatomy it has played a large part within her work and still influences her illustration. Realist imagery is what Charlotte aims to portray in her work.
